Accessibility
Wentworth Landscaping Multi Year Plan (2021-2026)
Statement of Commitment & Multi-Year Plan
Wentworth Landscapes is committed to meeting the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities in a timely manner, consistent with the principles of respect, dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity. Wentworth Landscapes has developed a multi-year plan outlining a strategy to prevent and remove barriers to accessibility and address the current and future requirements of the AOAD (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005).
This accessibility plan outlines the steps we are taking to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities. We will review and update this plan as required with a minimum of five years.
Customer Service
Wentworth Landscapes is committed to providing accessible customer service to people with disabilities. This means that we provide goods, services, and facilities to people with disabilities with the same high quality and timeliness as others.
Wentworth Landscapes ensure that its feedback process is accessible for people with disabilities. In addition to our online, in person and over the phone formats, we will provide and make arrangement for additional provisions upon request.
We will continue to be forward thinking when it comes to our methods of requesting and receiving feedback and ensure that we notify the public of the availability of accessible formats of communication.
Wentworth Landscapes has a Client Relationship Manager who is able to address all customer concerns and reaches out to our customers in a proactive manner.
Employment
Wentworth Landscapes is committed to fair and accessible employment practices and encourage applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
During our interview process we state that we are an equal opportunity employee. We ask that we are advised if there is any form of accommodation that is required throughout the interview process. Accommodation can include accessible formats and communication supports, or accessibility needs due to a disability.
Our job offers state that if you need some form of workplace accommodation in order to perform your job more effectively such as but not limited to workstation or work area access, physical modifications or modifications to technology or equipment, accessible formats and communication supports. The job accommodations will take into account an employee’s accessibility needs due to a disability.
Workplace Emergency Response Information
Wentworth Landscapes provides individualized workplace emergency response information to employees who have a disability if the disability is such that the individualized information is necessary, and the employer is aware of the need of accommodation. If the individual requires assistance in case of an emergency and gives consent, a dedicated assistance person will be provided.
Wentworth Landscapes reviews the individualized workplace emergency response information in the following circumstances: when the employee moves to a different location in the company, when overall accommodation needs or plans are reviewed, and when it reviews its general emergency response policies.
Training
Wentworth Landscapes trains every person upon hiring. The training process continues as the job skills require.
We provide a policy manual and train in respect of any changes to the policies.
Training is provided in different formats such as verbal; video; online; and in person. If any of our employees need an additional training format, we will accommodate their needs.
The training on accessible customer service is provided via an online training module through Greenius and has been part of our training since 2011. Training will re-occur when there are changes to the accessibility policies and the online training will be repeated for any employee whose original training date has been over 5 years.
We maintain records of the training provided in SiteDocs, including the dates on which the training was completed and when it has expired and re-training is required. We ensure that the training gets updated.
Design and Public Spaces
Wentworth Landscapes will meet accessibility laws when building or making major changes to public spaces.
As a design build company, we recognise the need of making spaces accessible whether it is our Business Premises, a Residential Site or a Public Park
