This role has opened as our valued team member begins her maternity leave, and we couldn’t be happier to support her during such a special time.
The Media & Communications Coordinator supports day-to-day marketing execution with a focus on content production, brand communication, media relations, and digital presence. This role requires a highly-motivated professional who works well independently. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will ensure cohesive messaging, consistent brand representation, and timely content rollout across all internal and external channels.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Content Creation & Editorial Management
Create, schedule, and publish organic content across all platforms (socials, newsletters, blog)
Monitor engagement and respond in brand voice
Maintain editorial calendar with content planned 3 months ahead; coordinate approvals with the Marketing Manager
Coordinate with HR on job posting schedules; create supporting graphics and post on social channels
Keep Marketing folders organized and up to date with documents and assets as they are created
2. Media Relations
Write and distribute press releases to maintained media lists
Coordinate media requests, interviews, and speaking opportunities
Monitor press coverage and compile periodic media reports
3. Digital Channel Maintenance
Update website imagery with new photography; upload and format blog posts (basic SEO tagging)
Support email campaign setup, testing, and deployment, updating verbiage when necessary
Ensure brand voice and visual consistency across all digital touchpoints
4. Photography & Awards
Organize and coordinate professional photoshoots of landscape and construction projects — requires collaboration with the design team, field staff, Marketing Manager, and photographer
Manage annual award submissions by collecting required documentation from the design team and submitting on schedule
5. Event & Campaign Support
Support logistics for internal and external events
Prepare presentation and promotional materials; provide on-site content capture
6. Reporting & Analytics
Deliver monthly performance reports covering social engagement, press mentions, content output, and email metrics
Provide campaign recaps to the Marketing Manager with data-backed recommendations for improvement
Requirements
Experience & Education
3+ years of experience in a marketing, communications, or media coordinator role
Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines without close supervision
Strong copywriting, editing, and visual storytelling skills across multiple formats (social, editorial, press releases, internal comms)
Proven experience managing multi-platform social media accounts for a brand or organization
Experience coordinating external vendors or creative collaborators (photographers, designers)
Technical Skills — Required
Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro
Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and Google Analytics
Social media management tools — Monday.com, CapCut, or equivalent scheduling/content platforms
Basic SEO understanding and basic CMS experience (website content updates, blog publishing)

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and adapt priorities in a fast-paced environment
Collaborative — able to liaise effectively across departments (design, field, HR)
Strong visual eye for brand consistency and content quality
Demonstrated creativity in graphic design, short-form video editing, and developing engaging social content concepts from brief to execution
Preferred Qualifications
Technical
Media monitoring tools
Video editing proficiency beyond social-format clips (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)
Experience with paid social media campaign setup and reporting (Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads)
Industry & Background
Experience in or familiarity with the landscape, construction, design, or home improvement industries
Photography skills or experience directing photography shoots
Experience with awards programs or industry association submissions
